Wife of civil police officer was arrested red handed on Friday (18)
The husband of the woman who shot a lawyer was arrested this Sunday (20) in Manaus. Civilian police officer Raimundo Nonato Machado turned himself in at the General Police Station of the Civil Police of Amazonas.
The crime took place in a condominium in Ponta Negra, West Zone of the city. The police officer’s wife shot the lawyer during a fight in which he was trying to separate her from the victim’s nanny.
The judge stated: “In the case file it appears that the agent directly participated in the crime of attempted murder against the victim and her nanny, by handing his gun to his wife, who was unable to commit the crime, as her arm was pushed , at which point he pulled the trigger of the gun”.
The police officer underwent medical examinations at the General Police Station and was then sent to jail, where he will remain in the custody of Justice.
The Civil Police of Amazonas declared that it does not tolerate misconduct on the part of its members and guarantees that it investigates all administrative infractions.

The confusion started when the babysitter passed close to the couple in the elevator of the condominium, as captured by the security cameras. The investigator’s wife verbally insulted her and then turned to physical violence.
The lawyer intervened to break up the fight between the women, at which point the policeman handed the gun to his wife. She fired, wounding the lawyer in the calf. The lawyer was treated in an emergency room and was later discharged.
