US President Joe Biden has unveiled a new strategy to combat the corona pandemic. It assumes, in particular, compulsory vaccination of all federal civil servants without exception.
Requirements for the availability of vaccinations will also be tightened in private enterprises. Those who refuse to get vaccinated will be fired. So federal government officials will no longer be able to get off with PCR tests. Exactly the same requirements will be presented to its contractors.
According to Biden, “it’s not a question of freedom or personal choice – it’s about protecting yourself and those around you.” The rest of the public and private sector workers in the United States, who, for whatever reason, do not want to be vaccinated, will still leave an alternative in the form of PCR tests. However, this is not a concession: according to the new rules, the employer will have to submit certificates at least once a week. And, of course, at your own expense. The US Department of Labor is preparing this emergency measure for all companies with more than 100 employees. And the Swiss National Council proposed to oblige unvaccinated residents infected with COVID to pay sick leave themselves.
And how are we?
In Russia, as confirmed to “RG” in the Ministry of Health, the principle of voluntary vaccination, enshrined in the law “On immunization of infectious diseases”, no one is going to cancel. Even the introduction of vaccination against covid in the National Calendar does not imply compulsory immunization, such explanations were made by Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Gridnev. “The principle of voluntariness is preserved, and in no way is it regulated in this law (on the inclusion of vaccinations in the National Calendar),” the deputy minister explained. At the same time, although article 5 of the law on immunization provides for the right to refuse vaccination, the same article further says that some categories of workers, in the absence of vaccinations, may be refused employment or suspended from work if it is associated with a high risk of infection. This rule includes health workers, teachers, employees of municipal services, transport, services. In many regions, people are encouraged to get vaccinated in the workplace, encouraging additional days off and bonuses.
