Civil society organizations under the “Partners for Elections” program continue their awareness campaigns on the importance of receiving a voter card, in an important step to enhance electoral participation..

In the south, “Ataa Al Khair Charitable Foundation continues to implement field campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of receiving the voter card, targeting the areas of (Tamsa and Majdoul) in the municipality of Zuwaila. The foundation also carried out a campaign to distribute brochures in the municipality of Taraghen to increase awareness of the importance of receiving the card, especially among those registered in the voter registry.”

The National Gathering in Fezzan and the Community Partnership Organization in Al-Buwanis, in cooperation with the Sabha Electoral Administration Office, the Al-Buwanis Scout Regiment and the Al-Buwanis Security Directorate, implemented “an activity to motivate voters and remind them of the need to go to the polling stations to receive their voter card. This time, the campaign relied on an innovative method aimed at reaching all citizens inside their homes and workplaces, where loudspeakers were used. In cooperation with awareness ambassadors, the campaign organized various activities that included distributing brochures on public roads and in shops, in addition to field visits to the rural hospital and educational institutions in the Samnou neighborhood.”

In the western region, “the Libyan Women’s Union in Tripoli, in cooperation with the Azizia Electoral Administration Office and the Jfara Scouts Regiment in the Nasiriyah Municipality, implemented a campaign to distribute brochures with the aim of educating citizens about the importance of participating in the electoral process.”

These awareness campaigns come within the framework of the National Elections Commission’s plan to distribute voter cards, which began on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
