The Petroecuador Public Company released a statement detailing the discovery of illegal intakes and a clandestine fuel collection center.
A white tank tanker authorized to transport fuel was found in Sacha, Orellana province, in what is presumed to be a clandestine fuel collection center. This is reported by the Petroecuador Public Company this Sunday, June 16, through an official statement.
The discovery, according to reports, occurred on Saturday, June 15, by Petroecuador security personnel, members of the Armed Forces and the National Police.
The vehicle was located on the right side of the Sacha 65 platform, Joya de los Sachas canton, the report details. In addition, it mentions that cable theft was recorded in the area and two clandestine taps were discovered in the 8-inch lines of the Coca – Sacha Pipeline, which transports crude oil and is part of the Amazonian Pipeline Network (RODA).
The document mentions that Petroecuador began the complaint procedures at the State Attorney General’s Office and began repairing pipelines to prevent illegal extraction. «This week the Monteverde – Chorrillos Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) pipeline was also affected, in the province of Santa Elena and an illegal drilling was detected in the Trans-Ecuadorian Oil Pipeline System (SOTE), at kilometer 10, Santa Cecilia sector. “Succumb,” the statement says.
