Clara Brugada announces Christmas activities in the Zócalo and town halls

The head of Government ‍of Mexico City, Clara Brugada Molinapresented‌ this Friday the program of christmas activities ⁢that‌ will make the capital an epicenter of coexistence, culture and festivity during the Christmas season.

With a focus on the decentralization⁢ of events, the celebrations will encompass ​not only the Zócalo, but also the city’s 16 mayoralties.

Christmas Verbena in the Zócalo

The Zócalo of Mexico City will be the heart of⁢ the Christmas Verbenawhich will start on December 17 and will run until December 30. The president highlighted the diversity of activities that will be available, from​ concerts⁣ to ⁣interactive installations:

live music: 56 musical groups of various genres, including⁢ notable artists such as Regina Orozco, Los Cadetes de Linares, and international talents such as Los Espíritus (Argentina), La Perla (Colombia) ⁢and los Mirlos (Peru).

Pastorelas: Daily performances starting ⁢December 17th.

Christmas candle: A structure with artificial snow,lighting and ideal settings for photographs.

light tunnels:⁤ Three illuminated passages with⁣ artificial snow effects.

monumental ornaments: Giant piñatas, ⁤a monumental nativity scene, oversized Christmas trees and the largest Christ Child in the world.

Picnic area and craft​ fair:⁤ Spaces designed for family⁢ coexistence⁤ and the promotion of‌ local products.

The traditional decorative lighting, prepared by the ministry of Works, will‍ complement the festive atmosphere in the buildings of the Zócalo and surrounding ‍areas.

Celebrations in the mayor’s offices

With the intention of bringing the Christmas spirit to every corner of the city, Brugada announced the installation of 16 free ice rinksone in each mayor’s office. These ‌tracks will be ‌available from⁤ December 20 to January 5, along with cultural activities and events in strategic spaces ‍that seek to involve local ‌communities.

“What is not close to many peopel does not exist,” said Clara Brugada, underlining her commitment to decentralize government events and guarantee that celebrations reach all families in the capital.

Representatives from various secretariats were present at the conference, who will share additional ‍details about⁢ the activities. The⁣ Secretary of Culture, Ana Francis, and the Secretary of Participation and Citizen Attention, Tomás Pliego, highlighted the importance of these initiatives to promote community unity and reactivate the‍ local economy.

The Secretary of Tourism, for its part, will present a special program to attract national and international⁣ visitors during⁣ these dates, reinforcing the Mexico City as a vibrant destination this ⁢season.
