The arrival of fiber optics in Villanueva not only enhances local connectivity but also complements the already robust existing 4G network, boosting communications and growth in one of the most relevant municipalities in the department. This expansion is part of a larger push by Claro, which plans to connect more cities and municipalities in 2024, strengthening the over 143 municipalities that already enjoy this technology in Colombia.
Julio Pérez, regional director of Claro Colombia, emphasized the importance of this investment: “For 30 years, we have invested in top-tier infrastructure to provide an exceptional connectivity experience. More than 27,000 residents, entrepreneurs, and tourists in Villanueva will now have access to high-speed fiber optic Internet, contributing to closing the digital divide and creating greater opportunities in the municipality.”
This new infrastructure not only improves the quality of life for the residents of Villanueva but also boosts key sectors such as education, tourism, entertainment, and work, creating a more inclusive and advanced digital ecosystem.
Celebrating Claro’s 30th anniversary
