Claro Expands Fiber Optic Connectivity in Villanueva, Benefiting Over 27,000 Residents and Businesses

More than 27,000 people will benefit from Claro’s fiber optic network in Villanueva, Casanare. Additionally, the company emphasized that over 9,000 homes and businesses will receive improvements in internet, television, and fixed-line telephone services.

The telecommunications company will invest across Colombia to connect more cities and municipalities with fiber in 2024, to strengthen the more than 143 municipalities that are already connected in Colombia.

“For 30 years, we have invested in implementing first-class infrastructure and providing an exceptional connectivity experience that enables improvements in education, tourism, entertainment, and work for everyone. More than 27,000 residents, businesspeople, and entrepreneurs in Villanueva, as well as tourists, will have access to higher speeds of fixed fiber optic internet, which will contribute to closing the digital divide and creating greater opportunities, complementing the connectivity ecosystem of this municipality,” said Julio Pérez, regional director of Claro Colombia.

Claro pointed out that fiber optic technology allows for data transmission at high speeds with better quality, improving user experience in internet, television, and telephone services. Currently, in the department, the company also reaches with this technology: Aguazul and Yopal.
