Palakkad: Police have detained 40 people in the incident of stone pelting during the football fans’ rally in Olavakod, Palakkad. The police informed that the people who were seen were taken into custody. Two policemen were injured in the stone pelting. ASI Mohan Das and CPO Sunil Kumar of North Police Station were injured. The stone pelting was during a dispute over the termination of the rally. The police lathicharged the people and chased them away from the spot. In the meantime, police officers were injured in stone pelting. The injured policemen were admitted to the district hospital for primary treatment. Football lovers came to Olavakot wearing jerseys of different teams. There will be more police action in the incident today.
