Clash in the Regional Council between Minelli and Bertschy, sitting suspended

The discussion between the councilor and the councilor confirms the split of the majority on the Cime Bianche issue

The session of the Regional Council this afternoon was suspended after a heated argument between the councilor for economic development Luigi Bertschty and the former councilor for the environment Chiara Minelli. Theme of the clash: the interval connection of Cime Bianche, the subject of an interpellation signed by Minelli and his colleague Erika Guichardaz (both of the PCP).

Minelli, opposed to the interval connection, recalled the rejection by the Ministry of the ecological transition of a project of the Lazio Region for the expansion of the Terminillo ski lifts because it did not respect the legislation on environmental protection. Illustrating the initiative on the connection between Ayas and Breuil Cervinia, the CPP councilor asked “if and what legal opinions have been requested, or are intended to be requested, by the Region following this ministerial provision”.

In his reply, the President of the Region Erik Lavevaz explained that «according to the Monterosa company, the situation of the Monte Terminillo area is not comparable, as both the degree of progress of the procedure and the regional regulations are different. This consideration has already been made also by the regional advocacy which she – said Lavevaz always responding to Minelli – has been interested in regarding the warning presented by some associations ».

The commissioner Bertschy intervened precisely on the opinion of the regional lawyer and accused the former colleague of having “careful not to tell his colleagues of the council that he had received a response from the advocacy he had asked in December”.

Minelli and Bertschy continued to discuss animatedly even after the speeches with the microphones on. The session was then suspended after a minority meeting for a conference of group leaders requested by the Lega VdA.

The session will reopen on Thursday morning.
