Clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem; 67 people were injured

JERUSALEM: Clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The clash took place on Friday morning. At least 67 Palestinians were reported injured. However, the cause of the conflict has not yet been confirmed.

Al-Aqsa Mosque officials said police used force to enter the mosque when hundreds of people gathered on Friday morning. There have been reports of Palestinians throwing stones at the police and police using tear gas and grenades in return.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said 59 wounded had been taken to hospital. Church officials said one of the guards was injured in the eye after police fired a rubber bullet. But Israel has not responded.
