Classics and mugham – on a September evening in Baku

A concert of classical music and mugham took place in the Hall of Chamber and Organ Music (Kirch) of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev as part of the XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, reports Day.Az.

Accompanied by the honored ensemble of the Said Rustamov Folk Instruments Orchestra under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, laureate of republican and international competitions Mustafa Ashurova soloists performed – Shaig Asadov (Balaban), Avazkhan Azizov, Vusal Gasimov, Revan Gachaev, Gulyaz Gasanzade (hanende).

The program featured the works of Azerbaijani and world classics – Uzeir Hajibeyli, Muslim Magomayev, Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirova, Saida Rustamova, Emina Sabitoglu, Vasif Adygozalov, Khan Shushinsky, Klaus Badelt and Astor Piazzolla.

Let us remind you that from September 18 to 28, on the occasion of National Music Day, the XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, is being held. Within the framework of the festival, concerts, performances, exhibitions, scientific conferences and master classes are held, films are presented in Baku, Shusha, Ganja, Lankaran, Gabala, Nakhchivan and Shamkir, and various events are organized in cultural centers operating in foreign countries.
