Classrooms reopen their doors with an operation to return to school

With their ironed uniforms and backpacks full of books, one million 350 thousand 850 students from basic level returned to the classrooms in the Mexico City; At the start of the 2025-2025 school year, students were protected by a traffic and security operation.

He highlighted that of the total number of school units that start classes, 3,944 are public schools and 2,995 are private.

The local leader highlighted the support for 1.25 million children enrolled in public preschool, primary and secondary schools through educational social programs.
Batres pointed out that during this new school year, children will receive free textbooks from the “New Mexican School”.

After the meeting with the President, the head of Government accompanied the students of the school in the Commencement Ceremony.

“We wish all children and adolescents a great school year, because education is one of the fundamental rights in the Welfare State,” he said before the community.

The Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Leticia Ramírez, celebrated that at the federal level more than 23 million elementary school students returned to the classrooms in more than 231 thousand educational institutions; she also highlighted that 162 million free textbooks were printed.

On the occasion of the return to school and to safeguard students, parents and teaching staff, the capital authorities implemented an operation with 13,814 police officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in areas within educational establishments and surrounding areas.

Likewise, traffic elements implemented road works to speed up the circulation of pedestrians and motorists on their way to schools.

The operational deployment included 1,427 official vehicles, 47 motorcycles, five cranes, 12 ambulances from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM) and a helicopter from the Cóndores group.
