He said that on October 1st he will hand over the presidential sash “to a well-prepared, honest woman with good feelings and a good heart. It is no longer about lightening the load, now I am going to pass the burden on to you, soon, very soon she will become the best president in the world.”

He said that after leaving the Presidency he will live in Palenque, “and I want us to make an agreement: ‘No more Andrés Manuel, I want to talk to you because I have a matter’, I will not be able to deal with it anymore, because if I open the door, I will have to open it to millions of Mexicans.”

He said he will compensate for the slowdown in his public activities with “an intellectual activity, I want to write about the deep, pre-Hispanic Mexico because there was so much subjugation, racism and also to hell with the complexes, our people are some of the hardest workers in the world.”
