The Blue Flags 2021 have been assigned, 201 Italian Municipalities, for a total of 416 beaches which correspond to approximately 10% of the beaches awarded worldwide, and 81 tourist landings.

There is a growth trend of the Blue Flag locations compared to the previous year: +6 Municipalities that have obtained recognition, among 15 new entries and 9 unconfirmed. These 282 Blue Flags – between coastal locations and tourist landings – have obtained international recognition from the Foundation fon Environmental Education.

In regional detail, the Liguria confirms 32 locations, follows the Campania with 19 Flags, with a new entrance but also an exit; there Tuscany drops to 17 Flags with three outputs. It also reaches 17 awards Puglia, with three new entries and one release; the Market they rise to 16, with a new entry.

Also there Calabria it reaches 15 with two new entrances and one exit, while Sardinia reconfirms its 14 locations (with a new entry and exit). L’Abruzzo rises to 13 with three new entries, the Lazio reaches 11 with two new municipalities. The 10 flags of the Trentino Alto Adige; at 10 rooms also the Sicily with two new entries. The 9 flags of the Veneto, as well as the 7 localities ofEmilia Romagna. The Basilicata confirms its 5 locations; two releases are recorded in Piedmont, which goes down to 2 Flags; the Friuli Venezia Giulia confirms 2 am of the previous year. The Molise remains with 1 Flag, even the Lombardy confirm 1 Blue flag. Overall, this year the Flags on the lakes drop to 16, with two releases.
