Cleaning workers; Strike from July 1 | Dynamics

by time news

Bangalore: The Karnataka Cleaners’ Union (KJWU) has decided to stage an indefinite strike across the state from July 1, demanding ‘direct pay and permanent contract workers’.

In this connection, Narayana, the leader of the union, said: The cleaners, who work on a contract basis, are paid 14 thousand rupees a month. They do not get any other benefits. Under the previous Congress government, it was decided to make the contract cleaning workers permanent. But this did not happen due to the actions of the Urban Development and Local Government Department officials. Local cleaning workers will also take part in it, he said.
