Users of X (formerly Twitter) used the social network to complain about the social network itself. It’s just that “clickbait” style ads – those with (almost) irresistible texts and images just to get your click or touch – have appeared on the timeline. And the worst part: you can’t block or report them.
For those in a hurry:
Strange “clickbait” style ads have appeared on the X (formerly Twitter) timeline; Users have posted screenshots of the ads on the social network itself and added that you can’t block or report them; If you’re just scrolling through your timeline below, the embedded image and text may trick you into thinking this is just another post; Apparently these ads are actually being served by a third-party ad provider, according to Mashable.
Unlike normal ads which are just posts from Company X accounts and have an “Ad” label, these new ones do not have any accounts associated with them, as revealed by Mashable.

This is new. A Twitter ad without an account attached that I can’t block or interact with. Glitch or test balloon?
It’s like this: if you’re just scrolling down the timeline, the embedded image and clickbait-style text might make you think it’s just another post. A “profile” photo made from the embedded image completes the illusion.

This new ad format reminds me of what you see on the bottom of low quality “news” websites ????

Also according to Mashable, the “clickbait” ad format is not in the X ad campaign manager. But “it appears that these ads are actually being provided by a third-party ad provider”.
