ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE – Benoît Rittaud defines himself as a climato-realist. In other words, he considers that we are not experiencing a climate crisis, but climate change. He wishes to open the debate on the evolution of the climate beyond the “narrative in place”.

“We must return to what we observe”

Benoît Rittaud is a French mathematician. He is a teacher-researcher in mathematics, lecturer at the University of Paris 13, within the laboratory of analysis, geometry and applications (Institut Galilée). He is the president of the association of climato-realists.

For our guest, there is no climate crisis, there are climate changes to which we must adapt. Making this observation does not mean granting oneself the right to pollute. There are indeed environmental problems that he does not deny, such as pollution. He simply invites people to come back to “what we observe”.

“Most climatologists are seized with fear, who is not the best adviser to do good science”he explains, and adds: “Science is not made to differentiate good from evil, it tries to differentiate the true from the false”.
