Save water. Until recently in France where the resource is not lacking, it was almost unthought. But the increasingly visible consequences of climate change, and especially the summer of 2022, have shaken up certainties. And pushed the government to want to “organize sobriety”, with a key objective detailed in its “water plan”: to reduce the water withdrawn by 10% by 2030.
Industrialists have joined the fight. The sector’s strategic committees will submit their proposals for less sampling and less consumption to the Ministries of Ecological Transition and Industry by the end of the year. Plans for the four most consuming sectors – mining and metallurgy, chemicals and materials, agri-food and electronics – are even expected from mid-October.
