Marc Terenzi is said to have sought professional help for his alcohol addiction. His ex Verena Kerth has now spoken to t-online about the recent events.
“When I’m feeling bad and stressed, like I have been in the last few months, I drink too much to calm down. I have to get that under control again,” explained Marc Terenzi in an interview with “Bild” at the beginning of August. After splitting up with Verena Kerth, the musician was hoping for a fresh start. The two announced their separation a few weeks ago.
The end of the relationship was accompanied by a number of accusations. Verena Kerth claimed that Marc Terenzi owed her money. The former boy band star, however, described the last year he spent with his ex-partner as the “worst year of my life”. He suffered mentally – but even after the separation there was apparently no improvement. As “Bild” now reports, Terenzi collapsed on Friday, August 16th.
Mandy Johnson, a friend of Marc Terenzi, explains to “Bild” that the singer called her on Friday. “You have to help me, I can’t do this anymore,” she quoted the 46-year-old as saying. He then reportedly had himself admitted to a Berlin clinic. Inpatient treatment is intended to help him restore his mental health and get his addictive behavior under control.
As Mandy Johnson explains, Marc Terenzi actually wanted to be treated in Canada. His girlfriend had even already chosen a clinic. But according to Johnson, the former jungle camper did not want to wait any longer. The 39-year-old blames Terenzi’s ex-girlfriend Verena Kerth for his condition: “In his last relationship he was only humiliated, hurt and belittled. He no longer has any self-esteem. He is very bad. He is trying to numb this feeling. He couldn’t get out of his dark hole on his own.”
During the course of their relationship, Marc Terenzi and Verena Kerth repeatedly made the headlines: The reports ranged from serious arguments to excessive alcohol consumption. A time that did not pass without leaving its mark on Terenzi: “I had to get out of the relationship to save myself,” he explained a few weeks ago.
Verena Kerth did not comment on Terenzi’s girlfriend’s accusations at t-online. She did, however, explain that she wished the American all the best “for the difficult path that now lies ahead of him.” “I am very happy that Marc is finally seeking help. He promised me again and again, but unfortunately never followed through. The fact that he is now getting the support that he desperately needs is a great relief,” said the Munich native. Marc Terenzi has not yet commented personally on the recent events. A t-online query has so far remained unanswered.
