Putin’s associate, who is in charge of the Kherson region, harshly attacked the Russian defense minister. “Many will agree that Sergei Shoigu, as the Russian Minister of Defense, should go and shoot himself”

Kirill Stremausov, the Kremlin’s commissioner for the Kherson region annexed to Russia, published a video on social media this weekend in which he blamed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu for the Russian army’s failures on the front. This is the first time that an official from within the Kremlin himself has voiced such opinions.

“Many will agree that Sergei Shoigu, as the Russian Defense Minister, should go and shoot himself, as an officer who allowed such things to happen. Many people do not understand the meaning of the word ‘officer,'” he attacked.

Stremausov also said that Kherson district, contrary to estimates, is not in danger and is “closed under lock and key”. Subsequently, he condemned most of the heads of the military leadership in Russia and called them “thieves, corrupt and useless”.

Last night (Friday) Ukrainian President Zelensky said that his forces liberated a total of 2,434 km and 96 settlements in the east of the country in their latest offensive. Zelensky also said that in the past week alone, Kyiv forces recaptured 776 km and 29 settlements in the east of the country. On Thursday, he said more than 500 square kilometers had been retaken in the south.
