The closing night of the festival, initiated by the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development (over three days), was punctuated by performances by musicians and choirs from Morocco as well as by performances by the Spanish group Pedro Burezzo and the Portuguese group Ricardo Martinez.
The festival, the highlight of the 21st edition of “Khamis Al Andaloussiates”, brought together musical groups from Spain and Portugal, as well as prestigious Moroccan choirs, as a celebration of the melodies and maqams of Andalusian music, thus highlighting the cultural and artistic mix between Morocco and the participating countries.
On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development, Nabil Fenjiro, told MAP that this festival aims to open up to countries that share authentic Andalusian heritage with Morocco.
He explained that the space of the Hassan II Park is in harmony with this type of music, stressing that the festival offers the public of Rabat the opportunity to enjoy unique musical performances reflecting the cultural diversity and musical richness characterizing Andalusian music, and to strengthen cultural and artistic relations between Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
The International Festival of Andalusian Music aims to promote musical heritage and cultural exchange, and to encourage the public to attend and enjoy this distinguished artistic celebration that combines authenticity and innovation in an enchanting musical atmosphere.
The Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development regularly organizes activities around Andalusian music, including the “Khamis des Andalousies” program which aims to enchant lovers of this refined art while helping to preserve the heritage of Andalusian music by training a generation passionate about this style of music and song.
