XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli“/>
Closing ceremony took place at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeylireports Day.Az.
In the concert program, accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli under the direction of the Honored Artist, Conductor Eyyuba Kulieva performed by People’s Artist Murad Adygeozalzade (piano), Honored Artist Alvin Khoja Ganiev (violin) and world famous musician Dmitry Sitkovetsky (violin, UK). The listeners were presented with unique performances – P.I. Tchaikovsky’s overture-fantasy “Romeo and Juliet”, concert for violin and orchestra D major by E. Korngold (Op. 35, first performance in Baku), double concert for violin, piano and string orchestra d moll by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, as well as “Adagio” and “Waltz” from G. Garayev’s ballet “Seven Beauties” (arranged for violin, piano and orchestra).
Let us recall that from September 18 to 28, on the occasion of National Music Day, the XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli was held, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the festival, concerts, performances, exhibitions, scientific conferences and master classes were held, as well as films were presented in Baku, Shusha, Ganja, Lankaran, Gabala, Nakhchivan and Shamkir, and various events were organized in cultural centers operating in foreign countries.
