Commoners of Tepoztlanin Moreloswarned that the strangulation of the highway Mexico-Cuernavaca will continue in the coming days with blockage in both directions at the junction with deviation to CuautlaThe presence of protesters continued on Wednesday for the second consecutive day.
They demand the completion of unfinished works previously agreed with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) and the removal of three booths at the entrances to this town.
They claim that there are effects on the restricted lane of the municipal capital – San Sebastián –Santiago Tepetlapawhere landslides and floods have already been recorded.
They also announced that there will be intermittent passage, but did not specify how often they will open the road; the most radical of the protesters said that they would allow vehicles to pass during 15 minutes every four hours, but they have not decided.
They pointed out that for the moment there is no agreement in sight with the SICT and the Ministry of the Interiorsince both agencies condition the installation of a dialogue and negotiation table with the withdrawal of the protests.
Thousands of motorists are affected, and the weekend when tourists go out is approaching.
