CM seeks hospital treatment; Features of the Mayo Clinic in the United States

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan left for the United States yesterday as part of his follow-up treatment. The CM is seeking treatment at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. As the hospital where the Chief Minister goes, people seek information about the specialties of the Mayo Clinic and its treatment. The Mayo Clinic is one of the most modern hospitals in the world. The Mayo Clinic is located in Rochester, Southern Minnesota, USA. There is a story behind the birth of this clinical. In 1883 a hurricane wreaked havoc in Rochester. More than 37 lives were lost in the hurricane. There were no facilities at that time to treat the seriously injured. Dr. William Worrell Mayo, who was rushed to the hospital at the time, was devastated by the lack of basic facilities. Dr. Mayo decided that no one should worry about not getting treatment. Thus Dr. William Worrell Mayo started the treatment center with the help of the nuns of St. Francis Convent. That is the Mayo Clinic. The 21-storey hospital complex has the facility to transport patients to the hospital through an underground tunnel when the temperature drops to minus degrees in winter. The Mayo Clinic employs about 5,000 doctors.
