(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 30 – Over six and a half billion euros. That’s how much foreigners will spend in August, crowding our country’s cities and art villages, beaches and mountains. This is what a survey conducted by Cna Turismo e Commercio, which ANSA is publishing in advance, predicts. Tourists from beyond the border should ensure a total of 39 million overnight stays, with an increase of 2.7 million (+7.5%) compared to last year and 4.7 million compared to 2019, the last pre-pandemic year. The choice of non-hotel accommodations will prevail, albeit slightly, over that of more traditional hotel solutions. As for where they come from, 70% of foreign tourists will come from Europe, 30% from non-European countries. Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, Poland, Austria, Belgium are the top ten European countries. A real boom is expected for tourists from the United States of America. And a strong growth should be recorded by vacationers arriving from Brazil, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, countries in the Near and Far East, the areas from which most non-Europeans come.
