The CNDD-FDD Shombo is preparing an agricultural field for coffee cultivation on the Ramba hill in the Gihogazi area of Karusi.
Gitega (Karusi), November 18, 2023 – In a gathering atmosphere, the CNDD-FDD in Shombo commune organized an activity in Ramba hill Gihogazi zone (formerly Gihogazi commune) aimed at preparing an agricultural field for coffee cultivation. The CNDD-FDD, the main political force in Burundi, contributes to local socio-economic development. Coffee, an export crop born during colonization, is integrated into Burundi’s current market economy, to the detriment of ubumu, the traditional socio-economic system of Barundi. The price of coffee is determined on international stock markets.
