The National Electoral Council approved the creation of a service for obtaining digital voting certificates through the platform of the Ministry of Telecommunications.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) approved, in a virtual session on July 3, 2024, the creation of the service for obtaining duplicates of the voting certificate digitally through the platform of the Ministry of Telecommunications.
This procedure will be free of charge and will be legally valid for public and private events. The service will be available after 60 days.
To obtain the digital document, the user must not have any outstanding fines with the electoral body.
At the plenary session of the CNE, Councilor Elena Nájera said that this complies with the provisions of Article 83 of the Code of Democracy, and numeral 5 of Article 18 of the Organic Law for the Optimization and Efficiency of Administrative Procedures such as the electronic signature.
Document files, databases and any application stored or transmitted by electronic, computer or magnetic means have the legal validity and effectiveness of an original physical document, said Nájera. /El Telégrafo
