Although Venezuelan law stipulates that voting records must be made public 48 hours after the close of the elections, the bulletin declaring Maduro the winner was published five days later.

Elvis Amoroso, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela, ratified the victory of Nicolás Maduro in last weekend’s elections, without releasing the voting records amid allegations of fraud.

Amoroso explained that with nearly 97% of the votes counted, Maduro won 51.95% of the votes and Edmundo González 43.18%. In detail, the current president would have obtained 6,408,844 votes and González 5,326,104.

In contrast, González and María Corina Machado published on social media the results of 80% of the voting centers in Venezuela, which show a solid victory for the opposition candidate.

“Maduro did not win the Venezuelan presidential elections on Sunday. “He lost in a landslide to Edmundo Gonzalez, 67% to 30%. I know this is true because I can prove it,” wrote Maria Corina Machado in a column in the Wall Street Journal.

Although Venezuelan law stipulates that voting records must be made public 48 hours after the close of the elections, the bulletin declaring Maduro the winner was published five days later.

In view of this, The CNE explained that they were victims of an alleged computer hack from North Macedoniawhich would have affected the publication of the controversial minutes.

For its part, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSJ) called on all those involved in the elections to abide by its decision on the review it will make of the vote.

“All citizens and political parties are urged to abide by and respect the judgment in this case,” the agency said.
