In a conference call with executives and program producers, CNN network director Chris Licht was asked about the term “big lie” regarding Trump’s allegations of election fraud, and said he would prefer the team to avoid anything. He made it clear that this was a preference, not a must, but the staff members took it as a clear instruction from the new boss. He encouraged producers and broadcasters to use the terms “Trump’s election lie” or “election lies” in banners and graphics instead.
