The General Budget for the year 2022-2023 was tabled in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on the 18th of last month. The next day (19th) the agriculture budget was tabled. The debate on general and agricultural budgets lasted from the 21st to the 24th.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly convened again the day before yesterday. In it, a discussion is taking place on the department wise grant request. Question time was also taken earlier. Members of the ruling party and the opposition took part in the discussion.
Ministers have been answering various questions during Question Hour in the Legislature. The meeting is scheduled to run until May 10.
In this context, the debate on the Cooperative, Food and Consumer Protection Department grant requests is taking place today in the Legislature. Cooperatives Minister I. Periyasamy and Food Minister Chakrabarty are expected to issue new announcements in response.
