/ The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) decided, on Saturday, to suspend the Iraqi youth team coach, Imad Muhammad, and deprive him of training for a period of six months due to directing insults to a TV presenter earlier.

A source in the Iraqi Football Association told Agency that the decision was issued against Muhammad Imad after a complaint from journalist Mona Sami, and that the deprivation of coach Imad was based on false accusations.

The source added that the escalation and inflaming of the situation came from within and reached the International Federation, and the issue involves the efforts of influential people.

Thus, Imad Muhammad is outside the training accounts of the Iraqi youth team after the international punishment.

Instead of the Olympic team, the Iraqi youth team is preparing to participate in the West Asian U-23 Championship, which will be held in the city of Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, during the period from 20 to 26 of this month of March.

The Iraqi Football Association decided that the youth team, led by Imad Muhammad, would participate in the West Asian Under-23 Championship instead of the Olympic team, after the Olympic team, led by Radhi Shenaishil, apologized for not participating in the tournament.

It is noteworthy that Sami had written in a post on her Twitter page, something that read, “Hello Imad… I will spare the brick and run after Sami’s goal.”

Imad Muhammad responded in a story on his Instagram page, “When you do not have the honor of quarreling, you certainly do not have the honor of confrontation… what an honor.”
