Railways have canceled 670 walks and passenger train services to transport coal to thermal power plants.
With the onset of summer, the demand for electricity has increased across India. At the same time, there is not enough coal in thermal power plants. In view of this, some express and passenger train service was canceled in order to carry the coal faster. Accordingly, 670 walk train services have been canceled in the last few days.
Coal is distributed daily by more than 400 boxes on behalf of the Railways. The railway administration has said that the service will continue for the next two months to ensure coal reserves at the power stations.
