The cancellation process runs until May 24. Trains in various states have been canceled to speed up the journey of trains carrying coal.

Of the 657, more than 500 are long-distance mail and express trains. And 148 passenger trains. These were canceled and the number of trains carrying coal daily increased significantly. There have been reports of declining coal storage at thermal power plants. Meanwhile, three trains were canceled due to protests by Chhattisgarh MPs.

Earlier reports said that 81 of the country’s 150 coal mines were facing coal shortages. Electricity consumption has increased as North India has been going through heavy heat. Accordingly, coal for power generation is not available. With this, many states are not getting enough power, the report said. The crisis is worst in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
