After PSV Eindhoven announced that it had agreed on the sale of Cody Gakpo to Liverpool, tonight (Wednesday) the Merseysiders announced that the star of the Netherlands team signed with the club. In doing so, Jurgen Klopp’s side completed one of the biggest signings of recent years, after there were already reports that the young player had concluded a deal at Manchester United, but Liverpool transferred Gakpo to their ranks in less than an hour.
The 23-year-old star, who successfully completed the medical tests and will officially be part of the team’s squad when the January transfer window opens, will receive the number 18. As you remember, the striker was very impressive at the World Cup in Qatar when he scored three goals in five games and led the Netherlands to the quarter-finals.

The Dutchman added: “I’m really looking forward to playing at Anfield. I heard many great stories about the stadium, about the atmosphere. I can not wait. And personally, just keep developing and becoming a better player every season.
