All of the above serves as a context to learn more about the new health alert published by the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris). The reason is because identified a fake version of Aspirin Protect version 100 mg.

Bayer de México, holder of the sanitary registry, announced that the counterfeit product, in presentation of 28 tablets with lot number BT15UX4has an expiration date of July 2024. While the original product, with the same batch number, has an expiration date of September 2023.

Likewise, Cofepris has also received notifications from international authorities reporting the detection of counterfeit products of this same brand and presentation with lot BT15GX2.

This counterfeit medicine represents a risk to the health of the population, because the manufacturing conditions and ingredients, its handling and storage are unknown, so its safety, quality and efficacy are not guaranteed.

If you have the Aspirin Protect 100 mg products with lot numbers BT15UX4 and BT15GX2, discontinue their use and see a health professional to indicate the treatment to follow.
