COGNATA will cooperate with the IDF in the development of autonomous vehicles with military outlines

by time news

The auto-tech startup Cogenta announced yesterday (Monday) the integration of the company’s simulation creation software in the IDF, in order to accelerate even more safety and readiness of algorithms.

COGNATA brings to the deal its simulation and validation platform for autonomous vehicles (AV), in photo-realistic road conditions, and for the most advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as well as unique challenges that present an unfamiliar terrain environment, along with training and perception perception from market leading autonomous systems.

The terrain simulation for Cogenta’s autonomous vehicles is designed to test, train and validate perception and control challenges for areas that do not allow clear road definition and for challenging conditions such as huge rocks, side slopes, hard roads and more. Cogenta’s simulation platform creates multiple scenarios with simulated limited visibility, thus bypassing and accelerating lengthy learning processes of artificial intelligence systems.

By creating realistic environments, the system enables fast learning and allows artificial intelligence systems to evaluate multiple situations that are created artificially and quickly, complex multi-source data sets and create automatic analysis – which shortens the training time for artificial intelligence software from a few months to a few months.

Cognata CEO Danny Atzmon: “Cognata’s technology is rapidly creating innovative visualization approaches and synthetic environments to enable enhanced AI / ML training that increases reliability, reduces human error in mission-critical tasks and has a positive effect on trust in human-machine collaboration.”

“We have carefully tested a number of simulation providers, and have been impressed by Cogenta’s quality standards,” said Vladimir and Colin, Major, Knowledge Leader and Head of Robotics and Autonomy, IDF. “We look forward to a productive algorithm development process, which will continue to lead the excellence that characterizes the IDF.”
