The inauguration for the post of Heads of State in 5 Zones in Coimbatore Corporation was held on Wednesday at Victoria Hall, the head office of the Corporation. Of these, candidates for the post of Zonal Leaders have already been announced on behalf of the DMK. They were unanimously excluded, with no one else competing. Accordingly, Kathivel was elected as the Northern Regional Chairman, Thanalakshmi as the Southern Regional Chairman, Ilakumi Ilanchelvi as the Eastern Regional Chairman, Deyvanai Tamilmara as the Western Regional Chairman and Meena Loku as the Central Regional Chairman.

At 2.30 pm on Thursday, the Chairman of the Accounts Committee, the Chairman of the Public Health Committee, the Chairman of the Education Committee, the Chairman of the Taxation and Finance Committee, the Chairman of the Urban Planning Committee, the Chairman of the Tasks Committee and the member of the Appointments Committee are to be inaugurated.
