Chennai: The NIA team conducted investigations in connection with the Coimbatore death blast. The NIA conducted the inspection in front of the Kota Sangameshwara temple where the blast took place. A team led by Inspector Vignesh of the NIA Chennai unit reached the spot.

The NIA inspected the temple, including the pillars that were damaged in the blast. Statements of eyewitnesses were also recorded. Meanwhile, the NIA released crucial information related to the attack. Jamesha Mubin, a jihadi mastermind, was attempting a lone wolf attack. The attack was planned at a time when people were gathering on the streets for the Diwali festival. The officials released the information that he was living on rent in this place till a month ago.

Jamesh’s lack of experience became a setback for the terrorists. The NIA said that the explosion in the car before reaching the target location prevented a major disaster. Apart from all these, it has been found that the suspects arrested in the case have links with the terrorists involved in the Sri Lankan blasts. Evidence was obtained that they had come to meet the accused who were in Viyyur jail before the attack. There are indications that the explosions in Coimbatore were carried out on their instructions. In this situation, NIA is planning to expand the investigation to Kerala.
