Coimbatore: NIA officials are encamped in Coimbatore and investigating the car cylinder blast incident.

On the 23rd at 4.10 a.m., a Maruti car traveling through Kotdamedu near Ukkadam, Coimbatore, suddenly exploded and caught fire when it crossed the speed limit in front of the Sangameswarar temple. The car broke into two pieces. Jamesha Mubin (25) from Ukkadam GM Nagar who was driving the car died on the spot.

Ukkadam police investigated the incident. 6 separate forces were formed. In the investigation of the police, Mohammad Talka (25), Mohammad Azharuddin (23) from Ukkadam, Mohammad Riaz (27), Peroz Ismail (27) and Mohammad Nawaz Ismail (26) from GM Nagar were arrested in connection with this case.

A case has been registered against the arrested persons under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UPA), conspiracy and attempt to cause conflict between two groups. Meanwhile, the police searched the deceased Jamesha’s house. In it, the police found and confiscated 60 kg of explosives and wires for making country-made bombs. Also, it was revealed that Jamesha Mubin along with some people was carrying a big bag of material from his house the night before the incident.

DIG, SP Camp : Therefore, the police have suspected that explosives may have been smuggled in the car. The Special Police is actively investigating the incident. Meanwhile, an NIA team led by NIA DIG Vandana and SB Sreejith reached Coimbatore to gather information regarding the incident. They are meeting the high officials of the city police in Coimbatore and discussing the above incident. They are going to visit the scene of the car accident and investigate.

The case is still being investigated by the city police. Although the NIA officials have gathered information, the investigation of the case is yet to be formally handed over to the NIA. Police sources say that the case will be transferred to the NIA soon.
