Tirupur: Coimbatore-Salem passenger train is getting cancelled, passengers are worried.

The Coimbatore-Salem passenger train, which was stopped for two and a half years due to Corona, started running again from last July 11.
Running only for two days, the train was canceled for 10 days from July 13 to 24 due to maintenance work between Kaveri – Anangur. The train was fully operational in August-September.

Due to engineering improvement work between Coimbatore – Tirupur, from 13th to 30th October, canceled for 17 days. After the work is completed, it is expected to resume operations from Oct. 31.
However, due to the ongoing engineering development work between Kaveri – Erode, it was announced that the train will be completely canceled for 30 days from October 31 to November 29.

Train passengers said, ‘This is the only passenger train connecting Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Salem districts. Operating six days a week except Sunday, thousands of commuters, workers and college students used to travel on monthly season tickets. They said that the passenger train should be run at least partially.
