The State Bank of Israel announced the release of commemorative coins with the slogan “Israel Together” (“Israel Beyahad”). It is dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the declaration of independence of the State of Israel, which symbolizes the unity and cohesion of Israelis that arose after Black Saturday on October 7.
Independence Day commemorative coins have been issued by the Bank of Israel every year since 1958, and their designs reflect important events in the history of Israel and its people. According to the creators of the idea, the shocking terrorist attack and subsequent War of Iron Swords led not only to tragedy and disaster for Israelis, but also to national unity, support and solidarity.
Artist Tzvika Roitman created a sketch for the reverse of the coins, which depicts hands reaching towards each other against the backdrop of a landscape with a kibbutz house and a tractor. At the top of the coin there is a large number 76.
On the front side there is a circle with the inscriptions “Independence Day 2024” in Hebrew and English. Also, “Israel” in Hebrew, English and Arabic is complemented by a symbol created by artist Eitan Alon, in the form of six hands clasped together.
Commemorative coins are issued in denominations of 10 shekels (from jewelry gold), 2 shekels (from jewelry silver) and 1 shekel (from ordinary silver), you can purchase them and see the design on the website of the State Coinage Company of Israel.
