Taiwan’s Nexcom will embed Batm’s network application management platform in communication boxes for fifth – generation networks for home offices and medium-sized organizations

Shares of Batam (BATM) are soaring today in Tel Aviv at a rate of 7.5% (as of noon), after the company announced a collaboration with the Taiwanese company Nexcom, which develops computer solutions for the worlds of industry, medical equipment, mobile and telecom. As part of the collaboration, Batam’s virtualization solution, Edgility, will be embedded in Nexcom’s DTA 1164W communication boxes, designed to provide a fifth generation communication infrastructure for the home and office worlds and for medium-sized organizations.

The communication boxes are based on Intel Atom processors, and the Edgility platform will allow end users to manage network applications virtually (NFV). Batam said the collaboration would expand market penetration of the solution developed by the company. Nexcom, which is traded on the Taiwan Stock Exchange at a market value of about $ 3 billion, is active in China, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Italy.

Batm has developed, through its UK subsidiary Telco Systems, a universal operating system called Edgility OS that enables the deployment of virtual networks (NFVs) and manages the various applications on top of universal hardware. The integrated solution enables communication providers to lower the hardware costs of end networks and manage network applications more flexibly according to customer needs.

NFV solutions are software-based platforms that allow you to manage the various network applications virtually from a remote server, without the need to install new hardware on the end sites. Virtual networks make it possible to add and update applications and manage traffic more efficiently and simply. Batm’s Edgility OS platform makes it possible to turn any ARM-based white box on the end site into a virtual machine running web applications.
