IN an exciting event entitled ‘Positive education: Creating school environments where students thrive’, three leading entities, Oxford University Press, the Indonesian SPK School Association and the British Embassy in Jakarta, joined forces in an effort to underline their dedication to enriching the British educational experience for students throughout Indonesia.

Director General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Iwan Syahril stated that he believes the Oxford International Curriculum and OxfordAQA International Qualifications introduced by Oxford University Press will enrich and complement the Merdeka Curriculum, supporting the approach education
comprehensive and inclusive.

“The Ministry wholeheartedly welcomes our international partners and stakeholders who are dedicated to improving the quality of school governance, teaching and learning in Indonesia,” said Iwan in a statement received, Friday (27/10).

Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Indonesia Dominic Jermey said that his party was happy to express support for Indonesian educational institutions in realizing world-class education through the provision of a high-quality British curriculum.

“Designing, developing and implementing curricula and qualifications that enable students to progress to the next stage in their education and careers is a core area of ​​expertise for the UK, and I look forward to fostering more partnerships with Indonesian education institutions,” he said.

Head of Global Partnerships at Oxford University Press, Luke Sweetman, said he was very pleased to be able to collaborate with the Indonesian SPK School Association in this important effort. According to him, Oxford University Press has a long-term commitment to education and developing student readiness for the future.

“Together with the Indonesian SPK School Association, this event aims to provide a platform for educators, school administrators and policy makers to share and learn from each other’s experiences and expertise,” he said.
