A traditional African object finds itself at the center of a legal dispute in France. An antique dealer bought a mask originating in Gabon from an elderly couple for €150 and shortly afterwards sold the object for €4.2 million. The retirees are now asking the court for the sale to be cancelled, while an association of Gabonese people demands that the object be returned to its country of origin.
