Kachirayapalayam,: The Collector conducted an inspection at the Vadakanandal Government Seed Farm. A government seed farm is operating under the Agriculture Farmer Welfare Department in the Vadakanandal area next to Kachirayapalayam. Traditional paddy seeds and coconut saplings are produced here.
Collector Shravankumar inspected it yesterday. Further, he visited the field where the traditional variety of paddy, Parkar, was planted and the nursery where coconut saplings were produced.
He also instructed the officials to carry out organic farming and produce more varieties of rice and coconut saplings and supply them to the farmers. The officials including Deputy Director of Agriculture Velvizhi and Deputy Director Sundaram were present.
