Colleges in China give students a week off to fall in love. The decision is in support of the government’s efforts to increase the birth rate in the country. Nine colleges in China have decided to give students a week off in April to start dating. The news was reported by NBC News.

On March 21, Mianyang Flying Vocational College gave the first love leave. Officials explain that the holiday from April 1 to 7 ‘encourages students to love nature, love life, enjoy spring break and fall in love with it’. Students have homework while on vacation. Homework is diary writing, making travel videos etc.
