by time news

Colombia won by a narrow margin against Mexico in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup after a goal from Mary José Álvarez and finished at the top of Group A at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium. However, not everything was joyful after the injury of Yunaira López.

Unfortunately, the defender had a harsh collision with her teammate Luisa Agudelo, who also suffered from the impact, but the worst was taken by López, who lay on the grass and was immediately taken to a hospital in Medellín by ambulance.

Immediately, alarms went off in Colombia, and there was great anticipation regarding Yunaira López’s examination at the medical center.

However, Yunaira López did not suffer a serious injury, and according to the medical report from the Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital to Noticias Caracol, the defender had a mild cranioencephalic trauma and fortunately is stable.

“We have received the patient who came to our emergency service due to a mild cranioencephalic trauma, caused by a collision with another player during the match. Currently, the patient is stable and receiving the necessary treatment for pain. Neurological alteration has been ruled out, and she will remain under our care and observation to determine her discharge,” was the statement issued by the medical center.

For now, Yunaira López’s presence is in doubt for the round of 16 match in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, and it remains to be seen if coach Carlos Paniagua will have her available for that important clash.
