Throughout last year, Colombian exports were USD 49,542.9 million FOB, which represents a decrease of 12.9%, compared to the same period in 2022.

This result is explained by the 5.9% drop in sales of the Fuels group and products from extractive industries such as coal, coke and briquettes (-28.1%). In December 2023, 16.3 million barrels of crude oil were exported, which represented a drop of 0.5% compared to December 2022.

However, the report also indicates a decrease in exports during the month of December 2023. In this period, external sales reached USD 4,445.4 million FOB, which represents a drop of 4.2% compared to December of 2022.

This decrease is mainly attributed to the fall in exports of the Fuels and products of extractive industries group, which decreased by 5.9% due to the reduction in sales of coal, coke and briquettes. In addition, exports of Manufacturing and Agriculture, food and beverages also registered a decrease in December 2023.
