Before the match against the Argentines, a video that circulated on social media and went viral featured a young man wearing the black jersey of Colombia with the number 16, who was mistaken for the player Jéfferson Lerma.

Lerma was one of the key players for Colombia due to his performance in midfield, and he had been a doubt because he arrived in the squad with a toe injury. It was thought he might not make it, but eventually, coach Néstor Lorenzo waited for him and included him in these matches.
Lerma, one of Colombia’s fundamental players, was confused with a friend of his. Outside the concentration hotel in Barranquilla, the young man was leaving when fans persistently asked him for a photo.
The young man, surprised, respectfully told them that he was not Lerma, that he was his friend. “I am not Lerma… he is my best friend,” the young man said, looking puzzled.
