Color DualSense Controller with Enhanced Triggers – Gamereactor

by time news

The newer colorful DualSense controllers began shipping last month along with the colorful casing of the PlayStation 5 console itself. When Sony introduced them, they were talking about style and customization, not about improving their internals.

But we found this out, although not all of the new color controllers work with this. YouTube channel TronicsFix teardownStar Blue, Star Magic Pink and Galaxy Purplemodel, revealed that different new components exist, while the Cosmic Red and Midnight are still equipped with the exact same parts as the black and white originals.

These new parts have nothing to do with battery life, but clearly have to do with the life of the controller itself. According to intelligence sources, a new spring-supported L2 and R2 trigger is used, which appears to be longer and stronger. These springs were one of the parts that were flawed in earlier models because they had to deal with the controller’s adaptive feedback feature.

The motherboard of the DualSense also appears to be different from the color model, but there’s no indication that it might be a solution to the drift problems that many users experience.

Only time will tell if these new parts will improve the controller’s durability. It remains to be seen whether these new parts will be added to the white, red and black models later.
